MusouQuest: Generation Break

Page history last edited by Ray of Speed 12 years, 6 months ago

"Walk like ten men; fight like twenty."

"Why, Oneesama? Why are you over there with that Black Phoenix?" She can't decide whether to keep her eyes on her Oneesama or the dark machine that's claimed her wingman. "... and, give Holly back -!"

"Taking her was hardly my choice." Mars' ultra-customized F91 - the Gram Gundam - floats between the Hawk and her partner, barring her way; her older sister's voice is a purr. "But it sure is effective in getting you to fight. Yamato's still as good at playing people at ever."

There's no acknowledgment from the Phoenix Gundam floating on her other side, but you can tell from the way it turns its head that he's heard her.

The Hawk snarls. She really can't tell whether Yamato was behind this as usual or just playing her... but she's all alone here, and there's no way she can get through all three of them on her own. Plus, even before her Oneesama and Yamato arrived, the Black Phoenix that had taken Holly had utterly ruined her; her souped-up Gouf is covered in dents and scratches, and missing its right arm.

And then Holly's voice comes through.

It's weak, so weak as to be barely noticeable, especially over the hissing static and screeching INVALID noise that Mars' Gram Gundam created. But the Hawk hears it.

"Get outta here while I can still hold it back... please... fight another day..."

The Hawk snarls, curls her fist. She could run. It would be so easy to simply retreat from the steel fortress.

"... please..."

"Shut up. We're partners." the Hawk murmurs softly, glaring between her three targets. She shifts her position, taking up an awkward fighting stance, off-balance due to the missing arm. "I've never run away from my problems. Never since we've met. I'll save you."

Holly tries to speak, but her voice is peeled off in a harsh scream of pain as the Black Phoenix jerks to life, eyes gleaming bright green.

The Hawk growls softly. She needs backup for this, and it's never going to come. Her friends are scattered across time and space; even if they knew of her plight, they'd never be able to make it to her in time.

Mars and Yamato spread out slowly, starting to encircle her.

"Don't expect me to go easy on you, little sister."

"I wouldn't ask you to, Oneesama." the Hawk responds bitterly, raising her fist slowly.

Yamato's dour voice breaks in. "Remember, this is a real fight. I'll give you the option to walk away once more."

"I won't abandon her. I won't abandon my partner, my best friend, my lover. If I have to tear you both apart to rescue her, then that's exactly what I'll do." the Hawk replies, and the fight is on.

The first blow completely wipes out the fortress' main door as the Hawk is sent sailing back through it, a boot-mark planted squarely on the cockpit of her machine. She snarls as she fights her way back upright, dark lines worming their way in from the edge of her vision; blood drips down her chin. Yamato's soft tones come through again. "Just let it go, Hawk. Let her go without incident."

"No."

The word is so quiet that he doesn't catch it, and makes a querying sound. The Hawk spits the blood aside and shakes the flickering in her vision away, glaring at his Phoenix Gundam through her too-clear vision.

"Not without incident."
